Daniel Voss Was Found in a Motel

Approximately two weeks later, police located Voss at a roadside motel outside Cleveland.

He did not resist arrest.

Inside his room investigators reportedly recovered old photographs, newspaper clippings and documents connected to Thomas Mercer and David Keller.

But Voss denied harming David.

He also denied planning to hurt the Morgan family.

According to Voss:

“I only wanted Thomas to tell the truth.”

Then investigators asked:

“Why were you circling his house?”

Voss answered:

“Because I wanted him to see me.”

The Most Disturbing Part Came Later

Police showed Thomas the photograph found inside the rental SUV.

Thomas stared at it.

Then he pointed at the handwriting.

“That isn’t Daniel’s.”

Investigators asked how he could know that.

Thomas replied:

“Because I’ve seen it before.”

He went back to the eight letters from his desk.

Seven had been written by Evan Keller.

But one was different.

The letter that contained only one word:

TUESDAY.

Evan denied writing it.

Voss denied writing it.

And handwriting comparisons reportedly suggested neither man had.
