The venue served dinner anyway because the food had already been prepared.

Lily went home with her mother before dinner.
She did not ask Daniel to stop the wedding.
In fact, when he told her what happened, she looked horrified.
“You canceled because of me?”
“No.”
“But if I didn’t say anything—”

“You telling me how you felt didn’t cause this.”
