She Arrived at Her Wedding Venue—And Found Her Sister Getting Married There Instead

Claire Bennett knew something was wrong before she even stepped out of the car.

Three days earlier, she had received the phone call she had been dreading.

Her wedding venue was supposedly unavailable.

A “serious scheduling issue,” her fiancé Marcus had explained.

They had been planning the wedding for almost a year.

The venue was paid for.

The flowers had been ordered.

The seating chart was finished.

Nearly everything was ready.

And now, less than a month before the ceremony, Claire was being told they had to start over.

She was devastated.

But what confused her most was how calm Marcus seemed.

“It’s just a venue,” he told her.

“We’ll figure something else out.”

Claire tried to believe him.

Then the venue manager sent her a message about several boxes of decorations she had dropped off early.

Claire decided to pick them up herself.

When she pulled into the parking lot Saturday afternoon, she expected an empty building.

Instead, the lot was packed.

People in suits and dresses were walking toward the entrance.

Music was playing inside.

And there were flowers everywhere.

Claire slowly got out of her car.

Then she saw the sign.

WELCOME TO THE WEDDING OF HANNAH & LUKE

Claire stopped walking.

Hannah was her younger sister.
