Her Friends Told Her to Leave It Alone
Claire’s brother, Ryan, thought she was getting too involved.
“Someone is probably squatting there.”
“Then why leave me a note?”
“Because they don’t want you calling police.”
“Exactly.”
“So stop watching them.”
Claire couldn’t believe his answer.
“You’re saying someone secretly living in an abandoned house threatened me and I should ignore it?”
Ryan corrected her.
“They wrote four words on paper.”
“That is a threat.”
“It’s creepy. That’s different.”
Claire disagreed.
Their mother told her to stay with Ryan for a few days.
Claire refused.
She had just purchased the house.
She wasn’t leaving because someone wanted to scare her.
Then the Camera Captured a Woman
For almost two weeks, nothing happened.
No lights.
No notes.
No strangers.
Then at 2:17 a.m. on a Monday, Claire’s phone buzzed.
Motion detected.
She opened the camera feed.
The porch light was on again.
Claire watched live.
The front door slowly opened.
A woman stepped outside.
Unlike the first figure, she wasn’t wearing dark clothing.
She wore a pale sweater.
Gray pants.
White sneakers.
She appeared to be in her sixties.
The woman stood beneath the porch light.
Then she looked directly toward Claire’s house.
Claire froze.
The woman raised one hand.
And waved.
